In August 2012 the Melos Sinfonia undertook its first opera – a new English adaptation of Mozart’s comedy The Impresario (Der Schauspieldirektor) at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. With a a new script written by then President of the Cambridge Footlights and award-winning writer/director, Harry Michell, The Impresario tracks the fortunes of a struggling opera house and its hapless impresario, Frank, in his attempts to attract the biggest names to his stage.
